Collection: Sundew - Drosera

A large group of Carnivorous Plants found on every continent of our world except Antarctica and a few oceanic islands. The plants are covered in tentacle-like appendages tipped with a sticky digestive droplets. Commonly called sundews for this reason. Once an insect lands most species begin to move their tentacles towards the struggling prey item. The more the prey item struggles, more and more nearby tentacles are attracted finally smothering the prey with the fluid. In some species the entire leaf dramatically curls over the prey to allow for quicker digestion and prevent escape! Within hours nutrients are liquified from the prey and the plant absorbs it like foliar feed through specialised surface glands.
