It is a classic miniature pygmy species loved especially by overseas growers and sought after for Carnivorous Plant collections.
Of all the pygmy species this one is one of the easiest to grow of the group. In the wild this species grows in South Western Australia often with Utricularia and Cephalotus, so they make great companion carnivores.
The plants are not far off maturity and would expect gemmae production later in the year. Probably best to leave them in their pot as pygmies dislike disturbance as such we do not post them bare rooted.
Care:
These plants do great in greenhouses or terrariums with bright lighting. Keep the moisture up to these plants.
Bare rooted when sent via express post?
Although we prefer to bare root our carnivores for ease of postage and their safety in transit (prevention of bruising etc) we don't bare root our Pygmy Drosera. The plant will be sent in it's small pot carefully with the top of the pot and plant covered in Sphagnum moss.
Postage Cost:
While we try and keep postage cost down to a minimum, there are times when larger orders exceed the standard weight limit. Due to the difficulty of weighing plants/soil etc if the plants exceed our normal parcel size and standard express $12.65 postage cost, we may need to send a separate postage invoice in these cases. Where possible, we will combine postage too. We do everything we can to minimise your postage cost while keeping the plants safe & healthy when you receive them. Thanks for your understanding.
Note:
- We can now send plants from our Nursery here in NSW to Quarantine states if the quarantine treatment process is followed. This is done through another Nursery (Rareplants), before purchasing click on link and follow the process and advise us of your interest: https://www.rareplants.net.au/quarantine-concierge-service/
- Normally we cannot send plants to WA, TAS or NT (Biosecurity) without options such as above process
- Apologies we cannot send plants internationally as of yet
- Partial refunds will be considered on a case by case basis, (we wear costs of funds being transferred )
- You may receive additional species in aquatic packs (duck weed etc) Doing our best to purify our collections and stop frog movement between our cultures!
- Protect your local biodiversity, do not release any plant into your local environment even if native. Plants from cultivated sources may not be of genetic local provenance and interfere with local population ecology and genetics
- We do our best to check for hitch hikers before sending but we can't guarantee there wont be any. We suggest all plants be quarantined to contain any potential hitchhikers (algae to aquatic & land snails/inverts ) no matter the supplier
- Please pay for plants/items by 1pm Saturday to give us time to package the plants before post day Mondays. Payment after 1pm Saturday will mean plants posted the following week. If there is a public holiday during the post week we will post the following week to avoid the plant spending excess time in transit
- Be aware we cannot claim responsibility for delayed times in postage.
- We do our best to carefully package & post on Sundays/Mondays to minimise delays in transit. We care about our plant life some of which are rare, we want the plants to arrive to you in the best possible condition. But please note some factors are out of our control especially in current times
Happy Growing
